At Screen Presence, we celebrate and support Asian Australian trailblazers who are redefining the landscape of the film industry. We are always on the lookout for Asian Australian trailblazers who are leaving their mark. Screen Presence is here to champion these trailblazers every step of the way.
In December, Screen Presence announced internationally acclaimed cinematographer Matthew Chuang ACS as the recipient of the Screen Presence Trailblazer Award.
Matthew’s cinematography spans major Australian and international feature films and television, and he is widely respected both for his craft and for his generosity toward emerging filmmakers.
His latest feature JIMPA, starring Olivia Colman and John Lithgow, opened in Australian cinemas on 19 February — a wonderful opportunity to see his work on the big screen.
Beyond his body of work, Matthew has long been a quiet supporter of emerging creatives, making him a fitting recipient of this year’s award.
