Last year, we proudly placed several of our talented members in key industry roles. Notable placements include Pius Kung (Production Manager), Grace Quiason (Locations Coordinator), and Merry May Frenila (Hair & Makeup Artist), who were selected for Vicscreen Specialist Placements. Jeremy Teh (Additional AD) and Lina Ly (Production Assistant) also gained Vicscreen Attachments on the ABC Comedy series White Fever. Additionally, full-time positions were secured by Silvia Indriyani (Boom Operator), Catherine Tschaepe (Production Coordinator), Ivan Zhang (Video Split), Justin Macawilli (Grip), Alfonso Coronel (Standby Props), and Brendan Wan & Diane Vu (Production Runners). Other casual roles included work for Allena Tran (Covid/On-set Stills), Michelle Wong (Clearances), Jen Tran (Dresser), Lyndie Li (Production Assistant), Darren Thao (Actor), Sally Cheng (Actor), and Lee Yee.

NEXTGEN was thrilled to collaborate with producer Melanie Ainsley and director Sam Voutas for their indie feature Yesterday Island, recruiting from within our group. Pius Kung took on the role of Production Manager, Alice Zhao became Production Coordinator, Lina Ly worked as Production Assistant, Alfonso Coronel served as Art Director, and Jen Tran was the Prop Master. Actor Berlin Lu also landed a role in Lyanna Kea's comedic web series Life of Kea, which is set to screen soon. It’s exciting to see these collaborations flourish.

After our annual event, Entertainment Lawyer Michelle Wong, through her connection with Screen Presence, joined the Legal & Business Affairs team at Werner Productions. Jessica Li recently joined as a Company Assistant, and Tessa May Chung was hired by Carver Films as their Production Secretary. We are continually inspired by the growth and success of our members.
