Neither Donkey Nor Horse: An Exclusive Screening & Afternoon of Art Film and Connection
On Sunday 8 December 2024, we gathered at Yashian Schauble’s stunning private art gallery residence from Australia China Art Foundation for an exclusive screening of Neither Donkey Nor Horse, the powerful Student Academy Award-winning short film directed by Robin Wang.
The film depicts the outbreak of the 1910 Manchurian Plague, a young Chinese doctor named Dr. Wu Lien Teh (played by Chris Pang from Crazy Rich Asians) who must defy prejudices of both the East and the West to advocate for his groundbreaking theory on the disease’s evolution. The film delves into how difficult it is to hold on to the pursuit of truth with colonialism, prejudice, and racial divide, and it reminds us that truth is worth pursuing, and may be the only medicine that can heal world divisions.
Congratulations Robin Wang and the cast and crew of Neither Donkey Nor Horse for a sensational screening!
